Where is your life going? Are you feeling unsettled, bored, disappointed with your life so far?

Maybe the Catholic Priesthood is for you! God may be calling you to follow him as an ordained priest or as a religious brother or sister! Have you ever seriously considered the Priesthood or Religious Life as being a viable option for you?

Fr Jamie Collins, Parish Priest of St George  and Fr Michael Cooney, Parish Priest of Dalby are the Vocation Directors for the Diocese of Toowoomba. They are both readily available to assist anyone interested in finding out more about the priesthood or the religious life. Why not give either of them a call.

For anyone interested in the diocesan priesthood, Diocesan policy requires a period of 'pre-seminary' formation when a possible candidate spends time in a parish observing the lifestyle of the local priest and joining in some activities of the local community. During this time regular spiritual direction is essential for the candidate.

After the period of 'pre-seminary' formation the Bishop then formally accepts the candidate for the Toowoomba Diocese. He then commences study at the Holy Spirit Seminary at Banyo in Brisbane. This seminary is the place of formation for candidates for the diocesan priesthood from throughout Queensland. The time of formation at the seminary is a combination of academic study, pastoral activity in parishes and spiritual formation. Some pastoral activity is performed in one's home diocese before ordination.

Details for formation in religious orders would vary and are available on application.
